Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and within steps of Gracie Mansion (home of the mayor of New York City), The Chapin is a cooperative comprised of three unified buildings, all built just after World War II. It is home to a diverse group of families and individuals cultivating a true "community atmosphere" and a high and sophisticated quality of life.
In 1998, Michael Yanko and his partners purchased 120 "bulk share" units for $5,150,000. Each unit was gut-renovated and some were combined together to create larger units. All units were sold individually for a total of $10,850,000. Last closing was in November 2001.
