PUNTA PATILLA

Property Type: Master Plan, Mixed-Use Resort
Architect/Designer: Carlos Zapata Studio

Punta Patilla is a 275 acre (1,075,000 sq m) site on the north coast of the Dominican Republic with breathtaking beaches, coastline, and panoramic water and mountain views. The development is about 20 miles from the nearest international airport, and 12 miles from the bustling town of Puerto Plata.

The Punta Patilla resort project will realize an unprecedented vision of luxury and harmony with the landscape. The development will include a 150 room boutique hotel on its eastern beaches (Playa de Guzman) and 20 private villas, each with its own outdoor deck and swimming lane. Other features of the hotel include a luxury spa, restaurants, bar, library, beach club, and swimming pools.

A large area at northeast section of the development will be preserved for open space and recreation, and to knit various communities within the development together. During a later phase a 100 room premium hotel will be added along with another 50 premium villas. Elements such as an equestrian center, polo ground, golf course, ball courts, fitness trail, riding paths, and swim clubs, will be located among the lush vegetation of the site.

Punta Patilla will be at the forefront of ecologically sensitive design. Existing natural features, such as mangroves, ravine overgrowth, drainage patterns, and coastlines will be preserved and enhanced to add to the beauty of the development. Innovative technologies for food, energy, water, and architecture will take advantage of the site’s physical attributes of the site.
